Every year the faculty coordinators of Numata Programs at universities in the United States and Canada convene at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Religion (AAR). This year the meeting was held in San Diego, California, and coordinators from UC Berkeley, Yale, Princeton, the Institute for Buddhist Studies, McMaster, McGill, Smith, Harvard, and UCLA, presented reports about their activities and engaged in a lively exchange of ideas. Representatives from BDK Japan, BDK America and BDK Hawaii were also present and described their respective activities. This annual meeting contributes significantly to our mutual understanding, cooperation and friendship. The next meeting will be held at the AAR convention in November 2025 in Boston.
