The BDK English Tripiṭaka Translation Series

To date we have published close to 50 volumes including some 75 individual works. The BDK English Tripiṭaka Project works from the edition of the Chinese Tripiṭaka that was compiled in Japan in the early part of the 20th century, the Taishō Shinshū Daizōkyō. It is generally known as the “Taishō Edition,” and contains 2,920 works (3,053 including variant versions), 11,970 fascicles and 80,645 pages. For this reason, our catalog allows scholars to search our works by individual Taishō numbers if they wish. See the catalog here.
