A Comprehensive Commentary on the Heart Sutra
A Comprehensive Commentary on the Heart Sutra is the earliest Chinese commentary on the Heart Sūtra. This sūtra, the shortest of the texts on Perfection of Wisdom (Skt. Prajñāpāramitā) tradition, is celebrated within Mahayana schools for its simultaneous brevity and depth. The text by Kuiji provides a word-for-word commentary on the sūtra, from the Xuan-zhuang translation. Analysis is based on the doctrines of the Faxiang School, with additional interpretations following the doctrines of the Sanlun School.
