Nominations are now open for the Toshihide Numata Book Award in Buddhism (or "Toshi" Award), awarded on an annual basis to an outstanding book in any area of Buddhist studies. The Award is administered by the Center for Buddhist Studies at the University of California, Berkeley.
Congratulations to Paul Swanson of the Nanzan Institute for Religion and Culture. Professor Swanson received the 2019 Toshihide Numata Book Award for the three volume publication, Clear Serenity, Quiet Insight: T’ien-t’ai Chih-i’s Mo-ho chih-kuan.
