The Diamond Perfection of Wisdom Sutra (Skt. Vajra-cchedikă-prajñāpāramita, T. 639), based on Kumara-jiva’s fifth-century Chinese version, is an accessible English rendition of this important Mahayana text, one of the most popular and widespread of the Prajña-paramita texts in East Asia.

The Sutra on the Past Vows of Kşitigarbha Bodhisattva(T. 412), translated from the Khotanese monk Sikşanan-da’s seventh-century Chinese version, is one of the texts most frequently recited at Chinese Buddhist death and dying rites, and emerged as a cornerstone of Chinese Buddhist life with its emphasis on filial piety.
